Now web design is one of those thing that is gearded towards a person but lots of people dont need to attend a large college and spend $100k to get this type of training. You have a few options to get involved into webdesign you can either go withthe options of doing Coding using (SQL, VB, XHTML, XML, C++,. and many more) or you can begin to your your other skills of creativity and go with the ADOBE products of DESIGN(Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash,)and developed.

Or the Microsoft Expressions suite ( this is a nice product as well) But please what ever tyou do dont go the crappy way and use publisher that is for elemetry school kids. Keep you skills up to par :) Also so i dont lead you astray you will be using some Code during your development with these product also if you want to have some things specific that yhe program does

You really have to do it to know. I took computer language classes with my friend who has a PHD degree. I never had much chance to use computer before. He uses computer all the time. but It was so easy for me to master the language, and I finished my mater degree of computer science. But he was so behind class, and dropped after taking one class. My point is that you may be smart, but not everyone can learn in the same way. If you like to learn, you just have to try different ways.
It depends on the person - some people can learn from tutorials or examples, some have a problem even in a classroom. But even if you can learn on your own, you do get something extra talking to others. It doesn't have to be in a classroom though - computer club meetings sometimes bring you into contact with people who can give you insights - even on-line forums do. I've learned things answering questions - I've had to look for the answer and found more than I was looking for.
